East Down Farmers Ltd, or EDF as we are known to our friends, was founded in 1966 as a co-op solely for Grain, and has survived and prospered through some difficult years in farming guided by our two principal assets – our customers and our staff.

East Down Farmers Ltd is one of the leading independent merchants in County Down, Northern Ireland. Privately owned by its local farmers East Down Farmers Ltd is focused on giving the best possible advice and service in the five key areas of Meal, Agri-chemicals, Fertiliser, Grain and Seed. We aim to add value to the businesses of our farmer customers by supplying their variable inputs – meal, agrichemicals, fertiliser, seed, wrap, gates & fencing products.

Based in Northern Ireland, just outside Downpatrick , East Down Farmers Ltd is well placed for the vast local area of Co Down. Whilst a large part of our business is within a 50 mile radius of headquarters, we have farmer customers throughout Northern Ireland with a firm link to United Farmers in the UK.
